Like we said at the start, there are just some pairs in life that MAKE SENSE. And that was a big part of our decision process. The collaboration between us and a video doorbell developer had to make sense. It’s not a cash grab by either company.

In fact, we’re both providing solutions in our markets that are higher quality, more sophisticated, and even more affordable than our competitors. 

LaView made sense because they have a very similar goal to us. Both companies are dedicated to creating safer neighborhoods everywhere, with home security solutions that are accessible and intuitive for everyone.

We’re committed to that, and so is LaView. Plus, we wanted to work with a brand that is established in the security camera industry with years of delivering solutions that make a difference in people’s lives. LaView checked that box too with over 7 years in the home and business security industry.

They’ve put in the time and effort to develop video doorbell solutions that go beyond that run-of-the-mill stuff that other companies are putting out. It’s that elevated R&D process that we respect and follow in our own smart lock development.

We’re not just slapping our logos together and calling it a day here. We worked closely with LaView to develop a front door smart home integration that works together from the ground up, seamlessly in the same app.

 

How Does the Video Doorbell Work with Our Smart Lock?

It’s as simple as downloading the free Hugolog app or free LaView app and following on-screen instructions.

Sound too good to be true? It’s not!

LaView’s latest DB5 video doorbell and DB6 video doorbell camera connect to your existing WiFi network and allow you to view your doorstep and answer the door with two-way audio right from your smart phone.

In their app, you’ll find an option that allows you to pair a Hugolog smart lock, which will allow you to lock or unlock the door remotely with a single touch. That means when family or friends drop by you can see who’s there, greet them, and unlock the door to let them in, all without ever leaving the couch.

It’s your world, your home, your couch, your lazy Sunday… We aren’t judging! Don’t get up if you don’t have to!

If you’re away from your home, you can do all of those same actions.

*Note: for remote lock/unlock with the smart lock, you’ll need the Bluetooth Gateway accessory! Make sure you choose the option to add that accessory on the drop down tab if you want the remote lock/unlock function to work!

The same can be done in the Hugolog app. You can choose the option to pair a LaView Security camera and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process in just a couple minutes.
